9/22/21 Planning and Zoning Commission Hearing on Module 1 of the Development Code Update

On September 22, 2021, Dekker / Perich / Sabatini (DPS) will present the draft of Module 1 that updates portions of the Development Code focusing on use-related regulations to the Planning and Zoning Commission. The public is invited to attend the hearing on at 5:30pm in the Council Chambers located at 1000 Central Avenue. This will be an informative session during which DPS will present an overview of the major changes proposed to the County’s zone districts as well as all use-related regulations including the permissive use table (AKA Use Index Matrix) that outlines which uses can occur in each district, use-specific regulations with which specific uses, such as manufacturing or accessory structures, must comply within the appropriate zone districts, and use-related definitions. Input received from the Planning and Zoning Commission will be incorporated into Module 2 of the Development Code Update.

A presentation of the draft changes to Module 1 of the Development Code will be made, including:

  • Zone districts, such as Single-Family Residential, Mixed-use, Industrial, etc. that set the desired uses and character of their geographic area;
  • Permissive Use Table that lists the allowable uses within the County’s zone districts, such as no residential uses allowed in an industrial zone; and
  • Use Specific Standards that attempt to mitigate impacts from heavier uses, such as manufacturing that may adversely impact adjacent properties.
